Wow. I've been letting this blog go for a bit, haven't I? I've just started making new posts to it earlier today, and since I'm trying to get my blogs out there, I figure I should say Welcome to the site, and give some PTR advice I've either learned on my own, or from others. I will also plan on keeping a bi-weekly update on my earnings.
1.)What is PTR? PTR stands for "Paid to Read", instead of recieving a bunch of unwanted mail that you waste time deleting, PTR programs pay you for what you want to recieve.
It has many options to best suit you for example when you register there will be a box with the options of "Site Inbox", which would send all Paid to Read mails to the PTR site inbox keeping your actual email client nice and tidy. The "E-Mail" option sends the PTR mail to your email client, this option is good in case you forget to visit the Site Inbox. The last is "Site Inbox & E-Mail" I'm not sure what this could be used for. Perhaps if your traveling and can only access the web from cyber-cafes?
2.)How much do I get paid? It all depends on the program you've joined. Some mails might be a few cents a day, but there's also appreciation pay. If you introduce a friend to the site, and they list you as their referrer, or by using a referal link you provide; If they earn a dollar, you might earn a quarter.
3.)Sounds good, how do I get paid? There's two types of email you recieve. Regular and "Search". Regular, you just read, click the link and look around the site for the alloted time then go onto the next mail.
Search mails are alot like the regular emails, but their link takes you to a search engine. Find a search link that would intrest you, click it and click on one of the sites that comes up. Read it for a certain amount of time, then go onto the next email. The more Search links you click, the more Search mails you get, which ends up earning you more money.
There are a few things that protect the PTR owners, and advertisers. Occasionally they will send out mails that say "THIS IS A CHEAT LINK, DON'T CLICK!" or something of that nature, to weed out non-fluent English readers. Just trash it and move on. There is also Tuning Numbers, which are to prevent bots, you match the URL number with the image number to go on. A certain amount of clicks on both the cheat links and tuning numbers can get your account cancelled.
When it comes to payout, they have plenty of different options available, Paypal is the most popular. I'd suggest having two Paypal accounts. one for PTR, and another for anything else you might do.
4.)It's taking too long!: Well..that's not a question, but it might be a thought you might have at one point. When your starting out with PTR, it might seem like it takes forever. However, after you start earning money, it'll just add up and continue adding up. There are stories where people can get bookus of money, but for the most part, PTR shouldn't be your bread and butter. It should be considered more of a jam, or cinnamon. Something that goes with your bread and butter. It's for extra money in which you could pay for hobby goods, entertaiment, or if you really haven't any need for the previous, could be added into paying bills.(or even just stash away!)
Sometimes programs get so big, it takes time to payout.
If your a patient person, this delay shouldn't really matter. After all, by the time they put the money into your Paypal account, you have more than what's the minium amount, which is more to spend.
5.)Wow! I saw a site that offered two hundred bucks per email! Is it real? They exist, but being real is a questionable thing. I joined one site, even though I had heard it was a scam...about an hour later, after thinking about the $10,000 min. payout, and I had just earned something like $222 in two minutes, the old saying popped into my mind. "It's too good to be true." With that said, I left. Boy, wouldn't it be great, huh?
6.)So, how do I keep myself safe? The best resource I've found on the web is the
Get Paid Database. It takes all the GetPaid sites and ranks them by user votes, and also has a list of sites that are scams.
With all this said, I hope you'll find a program here to your liking and happy earning!
